IKB Deutsche Industriebank announced on 3 September that it may lose near $1 billion on subprime losses.  The bank has already received over $19 billion in liquidity injections from other German banks.  The extent of the bank’s loss along with other German banks has put the nation’s entire banking system in jeopardy.
